He's Back Baby! Earth Two #11 First Thoughts

 ---SPOILER WARNING---

August 31st, 2011: The Flash stops himself from saving his mother resulting in the DC, Vertigo, and Wildstorm Universes to fuse together resulting in the New 52. Erasing much of the history and characters from continuity. This included my favorite Super-Hero team, the Justice Society of America, and my favorite Super-Hero, Doctor Fate.

May 2nd, 2012: The JSA are finally reintroduced to the DC Universe as a part of the New 52's Second Wave. They decided to make the characters younger, and change some of there character traits. These changes were met with mixed reactions.

April 3rd, 2013: Doctor Fate has finally made his long over due reappearance, and it is glorious.

When I first saw the cover for Earth Two #11 I could not wait for April. I sighed with relief when I saw that he still looked like himself. I mean most of the redesigns for the Earth Two characters aren't really that good. I mean Hawkgirl and Green Lantern looked fine but who's bright idea was it to change The Flash's costume to less resemble Mercury and more resemble Antman. This even makes less sense because they changed his origin to actually involve Mercury. But I digress.

I really liked what they did with Khalid who had to give up his sanity to become the new Doctor Fate. So I guess there going the Smallville route where the helmet makes you go crazy. I also like how they name dropped Kent Nelson. Who is apparently Khalid's guardian. That's probably why Nabu chose him since it has been proven in the Flashpoint tie-in Deadman and the Flying Grayson that even if the universe is altered the Helmet of Nabu can still remeber the original universe.

We also get some good character development, and some of Nabu's back story. Overall it's a good comic. It's pretty well drawn, and has a good story with well written dialogue. I think it's about time to forgive DC's stupid decisions as a company, and look forward to the great comics to come. The sun has finally vanquished the terrible night that was the New 52. But there will be many more before I'm threw. After all. It's never a good night to have a curse. This is the Mystery Theatre and like Doctor Fate, I'm back.
