Sonic the Hedgehog: Future Tense Review

Today were going to talk about another Sonic the Hedgehog comic, except this one doesn't have Sonic in it. This comic stars Silver the Hedgehog, first introduced in the game Sonic the Hedgehog from 2006. Silver is from a post apocalyptic future, and must travel to the past in order to bring who's responsible to justice. This is a back-up story in Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog #215 and 216. So let's check it out.

The story starts with Silver doing research on the Freedom Fighters. He stumbles onto a lead, and decides to go back in time to save his future. However he is conflicted, since he doesn't know if he can bring himself to kill someone. However after looking at the ruined city he decides he has to do this, and part one ends.

Part two begins with him returning to the future after discovering he was wrong, about the identity of the traitor. He runs into one of the previous Guardian Edmund, and Silver thanks him for letting him do research. Edmund can't seem to remember this because Silver changes time every time he goes back into the past. Silver leaves to go to his master and the story ends with his master being revealed to be the once evil Mammoth Mogul.

This story is pretty good, and it has some nice character moments. However where this comic shines is the art. It is beautiful, and whoever did the coloring did an outstanding job. The art is actually better in the side story then the actual main story. I'd recommend this but the main comics there in aren't really all that good.

Action Comics #894 Review

Lex Luthor is probably one of the best known villains in all comics. A man that want's to get to the top no matter who is in his way. This is what makes him a great villain for Superman, to him Superman is an obstacle he can't pass. So let's take a look at him without the Man of Steel, and see if he still holds his menace.

The comic opens with Lex Luthor "dead" on the ground after being shot. His spirit looks over his own body as he is visited by Death of the Endless from Neil Gaiman's Sandman. She has come to give him a life review, to see what kind of person he is.

They start to talk about death. Specifically her role in the Blackest Night and the afterlife. Lex explains his view point, and that he will find his way to win even in the after life. There's one thing he said in particular that I found confusing. He says he's an atheist but he also said he has already been to hell and knows it's real. So how can he still be an atheist if he knows there is a hell. Unless he didn't mean it literally, however that's very unlikely because of the situation and the way he said it.

Anyway they talk some more, and Death tells him he's not actually dead. Just having a near death experience. The comic ends with him waking up on his personal jet, realizing that what happened actually happened.This comic is pretty good. The art is good, and so is the story. Both Lex and Death have good character moments here, and there talks are great. Overall it's an enjoyable read, and I recommend it.

My Opinion on Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Michael Bay's back to ruin things you liked from your childhood. That's right the infamous director of the Transformer movies is going to tackle being the director of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Now I wasn't going to talk about it but something he said caused the internet to lose it  f*cking mind. So what was it that has caused such an uproar? Him and the writers are changing the Turtles into aliens. So I guess it's the TANT now. You know I really don't care at all.

This doesn't really have anything to do with my thoughts. I just thought it was Hilarious.

I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm not thinking straight or maybe I'm just so angry that I've come full circle. But seriously what did you expect. It's Micheal F*cking Bay. I mean this is the guy that already ruined both Transformers and Nightmare on Elm Street. So I'm going to do what I did when Transformers 3 came out, I'm just not going to watch it. I don't like Michael Bay as a director so I'm not giving him the money for something I know I'll hate. You guys keep going to his crappy movies, he'll keep make more money and in turn he will get more jobs as a director. So I'll be here watching the fallout.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Volume 1 Review

Today where shaking things up a bit, and looking at a Manga. For those who don't know what Manga is, it's essentially a Japanese Comic book. This one in particular is based off the infamous Kingdom Hearts games. It mostly infamous due to the fact it's the peculiar crossover of Final Fantasy and Disney movies. If this is your first time hearing about it your probably thinking the same thing most thought of when they heard this, why. Why such a weird crossover. However it's not a bad as you'd think. They are pretty good games. So let's take a look.

Since I'm reviewing a whole volume I can't go into much detail since it's almost 200 pages long, and I don't want to be here forever. The story is about Roxas, a seemingly normal boy with normal friends. However Roxas has been trouble by various dreams about a boy named Sora (the main character of the first game) and his adventures to other world. Besides this weird things have been happening around town like people freezing in time and ghost like monster attacking him.

The art is very detailed even for Manga. It's very nice to look at, and unlike most comics almost every panel has a detailed background. The story is good, all though a bit confusing if you haven't played the games. Also this is manga so most American comic readers might find this weird. 

The characters are good and developed. The Final Fantasy characters that make cameo's stay true to there character with the exception of Setzer from Final Fantasy 6 who act the exact opposite of his character. It sucks that he's the only Final Fantasy character from FF 1-6 to appear in the games, and they completely screwed him up.

There isn't a lot of Disney in this, Donald and Goofy only show up twice during flashbacks to the first game. This isn't a problem, but it is a Disney crossover so you'd expect more. Overall it's not bad, and I'd check it out if your a fan of the games but if your not use to reading manga this might not be your cup of tea.
